Car Parking...

We have requested all our contractors be courteous when parking outside the site.  We have arranged for road cones to be placed, and have implemented a 'No Parking Zone' on one side of the road to enable traffic to pass un-impeded.

We have also negotiated an off site parking facility in an attempt to facilitate the ever increasing numbers of workers on site.

Progress on Woodland Court...

We have made some great progress over the past three weeks, and have commenced plastering in areas 4 and 3.

The sprinklers, mechanical and electrical are all progressing well, we have no more than 3 weeks' brickwork left on areas A, B and C, making way for progressive scaffold stripping by the end of October.

Introducing...

The wates team at Woodland Court welcomed the arrival of a new Site Manager - Paul Stogdale. Paul will assist the team on site to deliver the project on time and within budget, keeping a close eye on the quality and workmanship of the sub-contractors to ensure that the project is delivered to highest standard.

Coming to an End

By the end of this week all works to the timber frame will be completed. The men have worked through all kinds of weather to get the building completed in order for the follow on trades to commence the internal work by the contractual deadline.
Once the roof trusses are completed the roofing contractor will then be able to tile the entire roof which will make the building watertight.

Treesey Does It

The site team here at Woodland Court have agreed with Palmers, who have been selected as the preferred contractor to landscape the grounds, which trees will be planted around the site. Darran Morrison, Project Manager for Woodland Court said ' it is essential that the new trees match the existing sycamore and cherry trees so it looks like the new trees have been here for a long time. Planting season for trees and shrubs is normally during the month of October.

Water Feature

The site team at Woodland Court have utilised the existing stone pillars that made up part of the site boundary and decided that a water feature should be made and installed in the garden for the residents at Woodland Court to enjoy. A specialist company will visit the site where they will install pipes down the middle of the pillars to create a feature which will be unique to the gardens here at Woodland Court.

YEDL Works

During the next few weeks there will be YEDL road works taking place on Staincliffe Road opposite the site to allow the permanent electric supply to be installed on site. Caught in the Net!!!

Whilst roofing works have been taking place here at Westmoor, every possible precaution has to be taken to ensure the safety of the men working on the roof.  The site team on Westmoor have had safety nets installed underneath the roof trusses, so in the unlikely event that one of the workmen should fall they will be caught in the safety net, thus preventing them from major injury.

The site team take site safety very seriously, and we like to go the extra mile to ensure that our site is the safest around.
