Woodland Court delivered

Woodland Court was finally delivered this week after the finishing touches were completed, Wates will complete training, demonstrations,orientation and the handover to Pinnacle over the next few weeks prior to the first tenants occupation in early July.

The site team on Woodland Court hosted a visit from Andy Hobart (WLS National MD), Joanne Jamieson (WLS Regional MD) and James Wates (Owner and CEO of Wates) on Wednesday where they met the site team and the client, great feedback was received as the scheme receives it final touches.

The Finish Line!

As we near completion, final adjustments are taking place and the last of the external works are completed, the site looks great and we look forward to handing it over at the end of May.

West Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards

Two of the three extra care schemes on the Kirklees PFI scheme have been recently shortlisted for quality and community awards, Both site teams are excited to receive the accolade and look forward to the award ceremony in June, Speaking with Ruth King, Building Control officer for both sites, she has commented on the quality and attention to detail to both schemes and the legacy Wates will provide to the local community.

And the Winner Is?

The team on Westmoor House have had various accolades during 2012, but nomination for this years Considerate Constructors Award and being shortlisted in the West Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards 2013 have added to those accolades.
We look forward to attending the Building Excellence Award ceremony which is being held in June, Good Luck to the Team and lets hope we bring the silverware home for Wates.

Works are progressing well with only three more rooms to paint, the atrium balustrade is now installed and there are some small areas of flooring to complete, externally the car park is being finished, the site cabins have been removed and soft landscaping is due to start next week. All looks good to programme and the completion of the first extra care scheme.

Grid Lines!

The suspended ceiling grids are currently being installed and the permanent lighting is now installed, heating is commissioned and the lifts are now functional.

Retaining Wall Four

This week, works have commenced on the final retaining wall which when completed will allow for the rest of the car park to be completed and further works to progress. Once the car park is completed, the site cabins will be relocated from their current position which will then allow the ground workers to continue with their works in accordance with the construction programme.

External Works

Now all the external scaffold has been stripped, the second phase of external works can continue. The Groundworkers have started at the rear of Woodland Court next to the conservatory and will work around the building towards Staincliffe road with the paving , this then allows the final stage of landscaping works to commence in line with the construction programme.

Let There Be Light!

The Atrium is now being completed with the inclusion of the acoustic panels, the final fitting of lights and glazed balustrades will follow over the next two weeks.

Internal works are progressing well here at Woodland Court, the decorators have nearly completed all of the mist coat on the corridors and have also commenced the final decorations to the first set of flats.



Taking Shape

This week will see the last of the scaffolding being taken down from Woodland Court. Despite the harsh winter conditions the scaffolders have braved the weather and continued to work hard to get the scaffold stripped in accordance with the programme.
